Cops break open door to bust liquor ring, find country-made firearm in Faridabad
When police reached the spot, they found the door locked from inside while the window was also found shut

Gurgaon: A police team that had to break open doors of a house in the Ballabhgarh area during a raid to bust a “liquor racket” returned with a country-made firearm instead. But not before it scaled the roofs of adjacent buildings to enter the premises.Faridabad crime branch officials said they received complaints, along with videos and other inputs, regarding “the illegal activity”. However, the accused had fled by the time they entered the house. Police found the door locked from inside, while the window was also shut. They repeatedly asked the inmates to open the door. But there was no response, following which they broke open the door using a grinder and hammer. The raid, however, resulted in the recovery of a country-made firearm.An officer said, “The joint team of crime branch Uncha Gaon and City Ballabhgarh police station reached the house on Sunday after receiving information that Lekhraj, a resident of Azad Nagar, was selling illegal liquor and intoxicants from the premises.”Police spokesperson Yashpal said, “During the search of the premises, police did not find any illegal liquor. However, a country-made pistol was recovered from inside a bed kept in a room. The weapon was seized and a case under relevant sections of the Arms Act was registered.” City Ballabhgarh SHO Umesh Kumar said, “Efforts are on to nab the accused.”Now, multiple teams have been deployed to trace the key accused and others. Crime branch in charge Uncha Gaon, SI Sundar Singh, said, “Several cases related to illegal liquor sale, Arms Act violations and assault were already registered against Lekhraj and his son.”
