Bathinda: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has arrested an inspector posted at Cooperative Society, Tapa, Barnala district, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000. A VB spokesperson said Harsh Bansal allegedly demanded Rs 1 lakh to clear pending retirement dues of Jang Singh, a former co-operative society secretary. The deal was settled at Rs 50,000. After Jang Singh approached the VB, a team laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed accepting the bribe money, the spokesperson added.
