Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao alleged that the Congress govt deceived not just farmers, but every section of society after making promises. He described the 31 months of Congress as a flop govt. The day is not far when both youth and farmers revolt against the Congress govt, he said.He asked the state govt not underestimate the youth power and said “we have seen thousands of young people gather near Parliament in Delhi and shake the central government. The Congress govt in Telangana will face the same situation. If the aspirations of the youth are ignored, they will erupt just as they did during the Telangana movement. They will kick out both Congress and the BJP,’ the BRS leader said.“We exposed the Congress govt through the Yuva Sangrama meeting over how it cheated the youth in the name of the Youth declaration. The young people want the Congress govt to go. The anger among the youth was so intense that if Revanth Reddy faced them directly, they seemed ready to thrash him,” KTR said while addressing a Rythu Sadassu in Luxettipet in Mancherial district on Tuesday.KTR said farmers are suffering because of the drought brought on under Congress rule. The government’s failure to procure crops and its neglect have led to the deaths of four farmers. Even though BRS staged an eight-hour protest demanding justice for the farmers’ families, the govt remained unmoved. Congress leaders should remember that if the youth and farmers revolt, not a single one of them will be able to move freely outside, the working president said.“Even after two and a half months, the govt has shown no concern for supporting the affected farming families. A ruthless govt is ruling the state. They are creating difficulties by distributing urea, which is readily available in shops, only through an app. The Revanth Reddy govt is punishing the very people who voted for it,” he said.The BRS working president said Telangana should have a farmer-friendly govt again and Congress leaders must be politically driven out. “Only then can a pro-farmer govt under KCR’s leadership return to power in Telangana. If the youth of Telangana and the farmers unite in protest, Congress leaders will not even be able to step outside,” he said.KTR said the state govt was playing petty politics over Kaleshwaram waters, which is a solution to drought. If the pumps at Kaleshwaram are turned on, there is a chance water would reach Yellampalli. At Kannepalli, water is flowing at a height of 94 meters… if the Annaram, Sundilla, and Medigadda barrages are operated in coordination, up to 3 TMC of water can be lifted per day,’ he said.The BRS leader said farmers were questioning the state govt why, if only two pillars had sunk, repairs have still not been completed even after 36 months. When it was proposed to rebuild the two damaged pillars at a cost of ₹400 crore, they were intimidated and sent away. Where did the NDSA ever say that water should not be lifted at Kannepalli? Revanth Reddy holds the record of denying Rythu Bandhu benefits four times, he said.ends/
