Chennai: MP Ranjan Kumar, president of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee’s Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe wing, was summoned by the police team for an inquiry into the child rape case involving granite baron R Veeramani.The questioning of Ranjan Kumar for about five hours on Friday. Police handed him a questionnaire and recorded his responses. He was later allowed to leave and asked to remain in the city and inform the police if he planned to leave the city.Ranjan Kumar had claimed that he had submitted a formal complaint against Veeramani on Nov 21, 2024 itself.
