Panaji: A Congress delegation met the director general of police (DGP) on Monday to demand a fair, transparent, and time-bound investigation into the Maina-Curtorim assault of local youth, as well as the recent instance of a youth suicide in Mapusa.The delegation urged the police to ensure strict action against all those responsible for the alleged assault, including accountability for the custodial violence reported against the youth, one of whom was a minor.The delegation also sought a thorough probe into the circumstances surrounding the Mapusa youth suicide case to ensure justice for the victim and his family.Meanwhile, the party’s student wing has requested the North Goa collector for an inquiry into an alleged examination irregularity during the NEET-UG examination conducted at Sant Sohirobanath Ambiye Govt College and Research Centre, Virnoda, Pernem.National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) said that at least 20 students in the examination hall AG-07 were allegedly asked to stop writing and had their question papers and answer sheets collected nearly 15 minutes before the end of the examination.NSUI-Goa has urged the collector to verify the allegations through CCTV footage, attendance records, examination documents, and statements of affected students and examination staff.
