CM to launch Rs 758cr devpt projects in Gorakhpur today

Gorakhpur: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate and lay the foundation for 24 development projects worth over Rs 758 crore in Gorakhpur on Saturday, with a major focus on improving road connectivity and boosting tourism infrastructure in the Pipraich assembly segment.The chief minister will inaugurate five road projects worth around Rs 697 crore, including the 11.6-km Bhatat–Banssthan four-lane road built at Rs 689 crore. The project is expected to provide easier access to the Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath State Ayush University.He will also lay the foundation stone for 19 projects worth over Rs 60 crore, including road-widening works, rural connectivity projects and tourism development initiatives. Key tourism projects include the development of Mahadev Kund in Sirsiya village, Samay Mata Temple in Budhadih, and a rural tourism project in Aurangabad village.The inauguration and foundation-laying ceremony will be held at Banssthan, where the chief minister will also address a public gathering.During his visit, CM Yogi will inspect and review the functioning of the Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath State Ayush University. He is also expected to inaugurate the university’s newly constructed men’s and women’s hostels, named after Mahant Avaidyanath and the Rapti River, respectively.On Sunday, Yogi will participate in the state’s plantation drive under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign along the Gorakhpur Link Expressway. The Uttar Pradesh govt has set a target of planting 35 crore saplings this year.
