Shimla: Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of development projects worth around Rs 48 crore in Kasumpti assembly constituency of Shimla district.The projects include the newly constructed block development office building at Mashobra, public works department (PWD) offices at Bhattakufer and Baldeyan, a new ITI building, and a link road project to improve connectivity in the region.Addressing a public gathering, Sukhu said the govt was committed to protecting the interests and resources of the people of Himachal Pradesh.Sukhu highlighted the govt’s efforts in disaster relief, legal victories, power agreements and protection of state interests in major projects. He said the govt would confiscate properties acquired through corrupt practices and distribute them among the poor. Sukhu announced that 1.75 lakh poor families identified through a survey would soon benefit under the proposed ‘Apna Parivar-Sukhi Parivar Yojana’.Earlier, he launched the first phase of a rural solid waste management initiative by flagging off 137 waste collection vehicles.
