Panaji: Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Friday lost his cool with Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) managing director Rohan Khaskar after learning that an elderly woman’s trade licence at the KTC Panaji bus terminus was still pending despite her repeated visits to the head office.Sawant directed Khaskar to renew the licence for three years, personally hand the renewed document to the woman, and immediately inform him once it was done.“This woman has been a vendor at the Panaji bus terminus for several years. Yet, she has been going from pillar to post to get her licence renewed. She has been to the KTC managing director for nearly six months, yet hasn’t received it, and she brought it to my attention. As I had come here, I decided to follow up with her. She is a Goan, yet she has been struggling. These people like to trouble senior citizens. I have instructed the KTC managing director to hand over the licence, renewed for three years, to her personally,” Sawant said.Visibly embarrassed by the confrontation, Khaskar agreed to complete the pending task and update the chief minister.Sawant and Khaskar were at the Panaji bus terminus for the launch of 10 newly procured 53-seater semi-luxury buses into the KTC fleet on Friday.
