Club dancer’s murder: Accused arrested from Gujarat

Times News NetworkPanchkula: Police have cracked the seven-month old case of a club dancer’s murder, whose skeletal remains were found behind the Sector 20 cremation ground in Dec 2025.The accused, Manoj Kumar Pal, was arrested from Surat on July 2. A resident of Gonda district in Uttar Pradesh, he was working as a motorcycle mechanic in Gujarat. Police seized a mobile phone from him.He was produced before a Surat court, brought to Panchkula on transit remand, and later sent to two-day police custody. Investigators will now try to recover the motorcycle used in the crime and probe possible involvement of others.Police said the victim, Madhuri alias Simran alias Tiddi, went missing on Nov 13, 2025. Her skeleton was recovered on Dec 23 near the cremation ground. A slip found in her clothes and the words “Inder I Love You” on her wrist helped establish her identity.Friends Vicky Sharma and Indra confirmed her identity in the mortuary. Sharma later filed a complaint saying that Simran left for a club party but never returned. He also received Rs 450 through Paytm from Manoj that night, raising suspicion.During interrogation, Manoj confessed to strangling Simran after a dispute and dumping her body in the bushes. He added that he used a motorcycle registered in a relative’s name.Police have registered a case under relevant sections of BNS and are continuing the investigation.
