Ludhiana: A delegation of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leaders and Ludhiana East residents submitted a memorandum to municipal corporation commissioner Ojasvi Alankar at the Zone D office in Sarabha Nagar on Tuesday, demanding immediate administrative intervention to resolve worsening sewerage, sanitation, and road infrastructure issues across the constituency.Led by former MLA East and senior SAD leader Ranjit Singh Dhillon, the delegation highlighted that persistent civic neglect has severely impacted daily life. Residents across affected wards reported choked sewer lines, stagnant wastewater on streets, sewage entering residential houses, damaged roads, and uncollected heaps of garbage that lack permanent solutions. The memorandum specifically identified multiple neglected localities across six municipal wards, including Sanyas Nagar, Deep Vihar, Golden Colony, and Harinder Nagar in Ward 2; Noorwala Road in Wards 3 and 4; Kakowal Road in Wards 4 and 5; Vishal Colony in Ward 5; Vardhman Colony in Ward 6; and Rahon Road in Wards 6 and 7.Urging the civic body to expedite repairs and clear long-standing bottlenecks, former MLA Ranjit Singh Dhillon said, “We have urged the authorities to take immediate action to address the sewerage and sanitation problems and repair the damaged roads to provide relief to people in the affected areas.”
