Gurgaon: Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) announced Class 12 results on Tuesday evening, and Charkhi Dadri emerged as the best-performing district, securing a pass percentage of 91.08%. Jind secured second place at 91%, while Nuh was at the bottom of the chart at 57%, despite some improvement from last year’s 45.7%. Girls outperformed boys across the state, recording a pass percentage of 87.9%, 6.5 percentage points higher than boys at 81.4%.Deepika from Rewari district topped the state by scoring 499 out of 500 marks. Udita from Rohtak secured the second position with 498 marks, while Yogita and Muskan from Jind jointly secured third place with 497 marks each.Meanwhile, Gurgaon’s ranking dropped from 12th place in 2025 to 18th this year. The district’s overall pass percentage dropped from 87.5% recorded last year to 81.9% in 2026. Education officers attributed the dip to growing academic challenges in schools, stressing the need for stronger academic monitoring, improved learning support systems and better teaching outcomes. A Gurgaon-based teacher highlighted stricter norms and more evaluation transparency, sometimes resulting in realistic but lower outcomes.Private schools in Gurgaon showed improvement compared with last year, with the pass percentage increasing to 65.1% from 37%. In govt schools across Gurgaon, 13,292 students appeared for the examinations, of whom 10,898 passed and 1,796 received compartment.Across Haryana, out of 2,42,856 students who appeared in the examinations, 2,05,618 cleared them. Science recorded the highest passing rate at 90%, followed by Commerce at 88.2% and Arts at 82.6%.
