Car rams into scooter in Gurgaon, delivery person injured

Gurgaon: A 28-year-old delivery executive was injured after a speeding car hit his electric scooter near Gate No. 3 in Sushant Lok Phase-1. He was rushed to a nearby hospital by passers-by and remained untraceable for over a week until his family contacted the police. They registered an FIR on Monday against an unidentified woman driver who fled after the collision.The victim, Sunil Kumar Mishra, who works with a quick commerce company, was on duty on April 20 when the accident took place around 12.40pm. In his complaint, Mishra said he just completed a delivery in Sushant Lok A Block and was heading back to the warehouse on his e-scooter when a car plying on the service lane rammed into him at high speed.The impact threw him onto the road, leaving him with injuries to his chest and right leg.Mishra was accompanied by passers-by who rushed him to a private hospital in Sector 56. He was later shifted to ESI Hospital and subsequently admitted to a private hospital in Palam Vihar as his condition worsened. He is currently undergoing treatment.Police said they were informed by an emergency response vehicle and reached the spot soon. They found the scooter lying at the site, while both Mishra and the vehicle that rammed into him were missing. Initial efforts to trace the injured at nearby hospitals did not yield any results.A few days later, the victim’s family contacted the police. On April 27, a police team reached the hospital, where doctors declared him fit to give a statement.Based on his complaint and medical examination, a case has been registered under sections of BNS at the Sector 29 police station.“Mishra told us that the car was being driven rashly on a service lane by a woman. We are trying to identify her using the vehicle registration number that Mishra gave us and are examining CCTV footage from the area,” an officer said.
