New Delhi: A cab driver allegedly threatened and attempted to assault a man with a stick following a minor collision inside Dwarka Expressway tunnel in southwest Delhi, with a video of the incident now going viral on social media. Police said efforts are under way to identify and trace the cab driver, who fled the spot before officers arrived.According to police, a PCR call was received at Kapashera police station at 7.45pm July 7. The caller alleged that after his WagonR was involved in a minor collision with a white Maruti Ertiga taxi, the cab driver attempted to assault him with a stick.Police said the caller pushed the cab driver in self-defence, causing him to fall against a parked Kia Seltos, resulting in minor damage to the vehicle. The owner of the Kia Seltos stopped the caller seeking compensation, while the cab driver fled the scene.When PCR staff reached the spot, the caller informed them that the cab driver had already left. The caller and the owner of the Kia Seltos later settled the matter amicably, and no injuries were reported.By the time police reached the location, neither damaged vehicles nor injured persons were found. During a telephonic enquiry, the caller told the police that he had returned home, that the matter had been mutually settled, and that he did not wish to pursue legal action.Police said they are examining CCTV footage from the area to ascertain the identity of the taxi driver and trace him. The viral video is also being examined as part of the inquiry.
