Jaipur: A 20-year-old domestic worker allegedly stole jewellery worth Rs 13 lakh from her employer’s home over nearly three months on her boyfriend’s instructions. Police arrested Sonam Saini Friday and recovered jewellery worth Rs 13 lakh, while her boyfriend remains absconding.The thefts took place at a house in Gangwal Park between May 12 and Aug 4. The matter came to light after the house owner, Kishan (53), lodged a complaint on Aug 24, reporting the theft of Rs 1.5 lakh in cash and jewellery.The missing valuables included diamond and gold bangles, 10-12 gold rings, a pendant, silver articles, and a gold watch.Police initially examined CCTV footage but found no leads. Investigators later analysed Saini’s call detail records and questioned her. She allegedly confessed to the thefts and claimed her boyfriend had instructed her to steal the valuables.Police recovered two gold bangles, a diamond necklace and a gold ring, collectively valued at around Rs 13 lakh. Her boyfriend is being traced.The case was registered at SMS Hospital police station.
