Ludhiana: A migrant labourer has been booked for allegedly throwing a pan of boiling fish and hot oil at a co-worker during a dispute over cooking in Issewal village, leaving the victim with serious burn injuries.The incident occurred on April 15 when Mahesh Singh (43), a native of Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad district, was cooking fish in his room. According to a complaint filed by his brother, an argument broke out with fellow labourer Naresh Kumar, following which the accused allegedly hurled the pan at him.Mahesh suffered burns on his face, hands and abdomen and developed blisters. He was initially taken to his native place and admitted to a govt hospital in Bilari before being referred to Moradabad due to the severity of his injuries.Following a complaint lodged with the Ludhiana Rural SSP’s office on Sept 16, Dakha police registered a zero FIR and booked the accused under sections of the BNS for causing grievous burns, criminal intimidation and intentional insult.Investigating officer ASI Tarseem Singh said the allegations are being probed and the accused will be arrested as per law.
