Hyderabad: BJP Yuva Morcha organised a scooty rally in the city on Wednesday in support of the Women’s Reservation Bill. The rally, which began at Narayanguda and proceeded to the assembly, saw the participation of hundreds of women, including members of the BJP Telangana Mahila Morcha and youth activists. BJP state president N Ramchander Rao attended the event as the chief guest.Speaking on the occasion, he said that the issue of 33% reservation for women in legislatures has been pending for the past 30 years. “During the UPA govt’s tenure, the Congress and its allies did not move this bill forward due to pressure. However, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Centre successfully passed the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ Bill in Parliament by building consensus among all parties. Now, the Congress is conspiring to create obstacles to the implementation of this bill,” he added. He further said that chief minister A Revanth Reddy is attempting to divide the nation by engaging in politics based on religion, caste and region. “The letter he wrote clearly indicates that the Congress is against women’s reservation,” Rao said.
