Ahmedabad: A 26-year-old man wanted in a murder case registered in Bihar’s Aurangabad district was arrested by the city crime branch on Tuesday. The accused, Nazre Alam, a resident of Aurangabad, was wanted in connection with the killing of Dilip Kumar Singh. The case was registered at Barun police station on Jan 1, under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.According to the complaint, Singh stepped out of his house late at night after receiving a phone call but failed to return. The next morning, his body was found near a tyre puncture shop with his throat slit, suggesting premeditated murder.Acting on specific intelligence inputs, teams of the Ahmedabad crime branch launched a search operation and tracked Alam to the city. Officials said the arrest was made after analysing mobile call detail records and developing human intelligence inputs. The accused allegedly was evading arrest and shifting locations to avoid detection.Crime branch officials said the arrest highlights coordination between Gujarat and Bihar police in tracking absconding suspects. After completing preliminary procedures, Alam will be handed over to Barun police station.Police said further probe in the case will be carried out by the Bihar police to establish the sequence of events and possible involvement of other persons in the crime.
