Ahmedabad: A woman from an eastern city area called the Abhayam women helpline after an altercation with her mother-in-law.“The woman manages a hospital and is married to a doctor. It was a love marriage, and the couple agreed to remain part of the joint family. However, minor altercations continued. Recently, the woman was not keeping well, and was home when matters over chores and living together escalated,” said a counsellor.The mother-in-law told counsellors that she had to handle the majority of the household chores despite her advanced age. She also said that the couple were not looking to move out. “Both sides eventually agreed to talk it out and come to a solution,” the counsellor added.
