BHU launches 142 new SWAYAM Online courses

Varanasi: Banaras Hindu University (BHU), as the national coordinator of the Institute of National Importance (INI) on SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active-Learning for Young Aspiring Minds) platform, on Saturday announced the launch of 142 new online courses for July semester, offering learners across India and abroad access to high-quality education from premier institutions.Out of the total 142 courses, 90 courses are offered by BHU, 48 courses by Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), and 4 courses by Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU). These courses will officially commence from July 27.The initiative is headed by Prof Ashutosh Mohan, coordinator of INI-SWAYAM. He emphasised the transformative role of digital learning in democratizing education and expanding access to quality education. Adding further value to the initiative, selective courses have been developed in collaboration with GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit), the German Agency for International Cooperation. This collaboration strengthens the global outlook of the program by bringing international expertise and knowledge-sharing into specialized course offerings.Prof Mohan said, “SWAYAM enables learners from every corner of the country to access quality education from premier institutions. Through this initiative, we aim to bridge geographic barriers and promote inclusive, flexible, and future-ready learning opportunities for students, professionals, and lifelong learners.”The newly launched courses cover an exceptionally wide range of disciplines, including Accounting, Finance & Commerce, Marketing & Management, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Technologies & Analytics, Language Courses such as German, Hindi, and English, Indian Mythology, Heritage & Historical Studies, Criminology & Social Sciences, Science across multiple disciplines, Music, Performing Arts & Musical Instruments, and several other interdisciplinary and skill-oriented subjects.
