Bengal curtails Seva Sankalp Abhiyan by a week

Kolkata: With Bengal set to celebrate Durga Puja in Oct, state govt has decided to curtail the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ – marking PM Narendra Modi completing 25 years in public service – by a week. The series of programmes, earlier scheduled to go on for a month, will now be observed from Sept 17 to Oct 10. Mahalaya will be observed by the state on Oct 10.The ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ will comprise a series of interconnected programmes and activities involving different departments of govt, district administrations, elected representatives, educational institutions, youth and community organisations, beneficiaries, innovators and citizens, aimed at reinforcing the spirit of public service, strengthening citizen engagement and bringing various govt initiatives and welfare interventions closer to the people.
