Pune: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday said during the Tiranga Yatra that the country’s youths should be aware of their responsibilities, just as they are about their rights.Part of BJP’s nationwide Independence Day celebrations, the party’s Pune unit on Tuesday organised the rally where hundreds of party workers and citizens’ groups participated. Fadnavis led the rally, which started from outside Lalit Mahal hotel and concluded at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s statue, after passing though FC Road.The CM said, “Exuberant youths on FC road is a daily thing. However, it was a great sight to see the same youngsters come out with fervour holding India’s Tricolour.”Speaking to the younger generation about the importance of holding India’s national flag high, Fadnavis said, “The Indian Tricolour reminds us of the responsibilities we have towards our country. The Indian Constitution has given us rights, but the same Constitution has also specified some responsibilities for every citizen. We need to work together to fulfil it towards our nation and ensure that India’s flag stands tall.”Remembering the sacrifices made by freedom fighters for the country’s independence, Fadnavis said the younger generation would keep contributing to make their nation stronger.“We have a dream to make India a developed nation over the next 20 years. We are trying to make Maharashtra an advanced state, where every resident’s dream can be fulfilled. I am confident of the younger generation’s capabilities that will ensure we realise our dream,” he said.Hold similar rally to check potholes, traffic issues: CongCongress members took a dig at BJP’s Tiranga Yatra in Pune on Tuesday. Chief of Pune West Congress Prashant Jagtap said, “Nobody is opposing the Yatra, but the CM should have conducted a rally across the city to inspect the pothole ridden roads and the hardships faced by residents on a daily basis.”He said, “BJP has failed to improve Pune’s infrastructure. Instead of addressing problems like traffic congestion, potholes, deteriorating civic infrastructure, we feel the CM deliberately led the rally and added to the traffic chaos to rub salt on people’s wounds.”
