Guwahati: Guwahati Traffic Police have imposed a set of regulations on vehicular movement around the Assam Cricket Association Stadium in Barsapara on Wednesday when the city hosts the second ODI between India and West Indies.Police said the measures aim to protect vulnerable road users, including children, students, senior citizens and the differently abled, and to keep a clear passage for ambulances, fire tenders, school buses, vehicles carrying life-saving drugs and oxygen cylinders, and local residents, who are exempt from the restrictions.Goods vehicles off the roads from 10 amCommercial goods vehicles and slow-moving vehicles will be restricted on GS Road, BK Kakati Road, AK Azad Road, AK Dev Road, Kula Basumatary Road, Dr Bhupen Hazarika Path, Mora-Bharalu Path, FA Road, Dhopoliya Road, Bishnupur Road, MG Road, AT Road, RKC Road, Birubari-GMC Road and Kahilipara Road from 10 am until the match ends.Diversions and one-way stretchesFrom noon, vehicles without car passes travelling from Lokhra Chariali towards Arya Nagar will be diverted at Lalganesh Tiniali towards Hayat Hospital and Kahilipara Road. Vehicles without passes heading from Arya Nagar towards Lalganesh will be diverted at Cycle Factory via FA Road towards AK Dev Road.From 11 am, Kula Basumatary Road (Barsapara Road) will be one-way from Barsapara Tiniali to Dhirenpara Tiniali. Vehicles will not be allowed to travel from Dhirenpara Tiniali towards Barsapara Tiniali. Only vehicles with car passes, excluding drop-off pass holders, will be allowed to travel from Barsapara Tiniali towards the stadium.No-parking and parking zonesParking will be prohibited on both sides of Kula Basumatary Road from Barsapara Tiniali to Dhirenpara Tiniali, on AK Azad Road from Cycle Factory to Lal Ganesh Tiniali, and on AK Dev Road from Ambari Tiniali to Champabati High School. One-side parallel parking will be allowed on AK Dev Road from Champabati High School to Garchuk, and from Dakhingaon Tiniali towards NEF College on Kanaklata Path.After the matchVehicles parked inside the stadium may exit towards either Dhirenpara Tiniali or Barsapara Tiniali. From Barsapara Tiniali, vehicles can proceed towards Birubari or Lalganesh. From Dhirenpara Tiniali, they can proceed towards Garchuk or Fatasil Ambari.Police said the restrictions will not affect emergency vehicles such as fire tenders and ambulances, vehicles carrying life-saving drugs or oxygen cylinders, school buses and local residents.
