Ludhiana: A 26-year-old bank employee narrowly avoided a serious crash on Thursday after motorcyle-borne robbers intercepted her scooter and snatched a purse containing keys to a high-security bank vault.Krishti Sharma was commuting home to Shekhewal when two men on a motorcycle began tailing her near Chand Cinema. The pair attempted to block her path initially, but when she refused to stop, they lunged at the moving scooter and grabbed her handbag from the floorboard. The force of the snatch nearly caused Krishti to lose control of her vehicle. Despite the shock, she raised an alarm and attempted to pursue the thieves before they vanished into traffic. The woman told police: “The purse contained ₹20,000, my mobile phone, debit cards, and the keys to the bank’s main vault.” The stolen keys grant access to the branch’s secure storage for cash, gold, and legal documents. Krishti borrowed a phone from a passerby to alert the cops. Division Number 4 police have registered a case and are trying to identify the suspects. “The scene had no surveillance cameras,” said head constable Hardeep Singh. “We are now tracking the suspects’ escape route by reviewing footage from nearest shops and intersections.” MSID:: 130978788 413 |
