Bank employee cheats customer out of Rs 1 lakh in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: A sales manager of a private bank has been accused of cheating a customer of Rs 1 lakh on the pretext of opening a current account. The complaint filed with Navrangpura police on Thursday states that the accused, in Aug, took Rs 80,000 first and Rs 20,000 the next day for opening the account but deposited the money into his own account. The customer approached the bank and the Reserve Bank of India after finding that the account had not been opened. An internal vigilance probe confirmed the alleged misconduct. The employee resigned and the bank said it repaid the customer via a demand draft, and finally the customer filed a complaint. 3 vehicle thieves held, 19 cases solved: Sola police have arrested three men in connection with a vehicle theft racket and solved 19 motorcycle theft cases. Sola high court police used CCTV footage and human intelligence to identify a suspect linked to the theft of a bike parked near a bridge in the area. An official release on Friday identified the five as Babu Ninama (49) from Vankatimba village in Aravalli’s Bhiloda taluka, Ishwar alias Hendal Salat (28) from Palanpur in Banaskantha, Manojgiri Goswami (45) from Vansda in Navsari, Wahid Panja (50) from Junagadh, and Imran Belim (32) from Rajkot. “All five were previously arrested under the NDPS Act but were out on bail,” the release said
