HYDERABAD: Actor Manchu Manoj has reacted to the ongoing POCSO case registered against Bandi Bhageerath, son of Union minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar, calling for a fair, transparent and proper investigation into the allegations of sexual harassment of a minor girl.Taking to X, Manoj said the case had deeply disturbed him and stressed that justice should prevail irrespective of power or influence.“The recent POCSO case involving Bandi Bhageerath, son of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar Garu, has deeply disturbed me. I strongly believe the POCSO Act was created to make sure every minor girl gets justice no matter what. Power, position, influence or status should never come in the way. Every girl deserves equal justice under the Constitution and the law,” Manoj posted.The actor further said that cases involving minors require urgency, transparency and accountability, adding that any delay or selective action weakens public trust in the justice system.“This is not about politics or personalities. Truth must come out and justice must prevail. I sincerely hope the investigation and every legal procedure is carried out with urgency, fairness and transparency, free from any pressure or influence. Justice must not only be done but also seen to be done, proving once again that no one is above the law,” he added.Meanwhile, Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday directed DGP CV Anand to constitute special teams and expedite the investigation into the POCSO case registered against Bandi Bhageerath.According to officials, Revanth sought an explanation from the DGP regarding the alleged delay in action despite the complaint being registered on May 8. The DGP reportedly informed the chief minister that police officials and personnel were engaged in security arrangements for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Hyderabad on May 10.The investigation is being supervised by Kukatpally DCP Ritiraj. The chief minister said the probe would examine both the complaint filed by the girl’s family at Pet Basheerabad police station and the case registered by Bandi Bhageerath in Karimnagar.
