Guwahati: Assam’s Shubh Prasad topped the region with a 99.9931 percentile and an all-India rank (AIR) of 133, according to the National Testing Agency’s list of state toppers in the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination results declared on Friday.Tripura’s Baibhab Roy, an OBC-NCL candidate, secured a 99.9914 percentile with AIR 166, while Arunachal Pradesh’s Lirik Ete topped the state with a 99.55378 percentile and AIR 8,673.In Manipur, Javed Hasan topped the state with a 99.63008 percentile (AIR 7,105). Meghalaya’s topper was Bakhambo K Anthony Thabah, who secured a 99.26791 percentile (AIR 14,455), while H Malsawmdawngzuala topped Mizoram with a 99.40602 percentile (AIR 11,875).Nagaland’s highest scorer, Subhasmita Nayak, secured a 97.86464 percentile (AIR 42,124) and was the only female state topper in the region.The re-examination was conducted after the Supreme Court ordered a fresh test for candidates affected by disruptions at several centres.Nationally, the highest score of 715 out of 720 was jointly secured by Aryan Gupta (Punjab) and Panshul Bansal (Haryana).Nearly 20 lakh candidates appeared for the medical entrance examination, conducted at 5,440 centres across 551 cities in India and 14 locations abroad. As many as 11.21 lakh candidates qualified for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and allied courses. More than 58% of the qualified candidates are women. Nineteen candidates scored above 700 marks, 1,492 scored 650 and above, and over 10,000 crossed the 600-mark barrier.No candidate from the region figured among the national top 10 in the general, SC or ST categories.
