If Bangladesh, Nepal youth can, Indian students too can ensure accountability: Arvind Kejriwal invokes Gen Z after NEET paper leak

NEW DELHI: AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday urged India’s Gen Z population to demand accountability in the alleged NEET paper leak case, saying young people had the power to force political change. Addressing a press conference, Kejriwal said repeated incidents of question paper leaks had shaken the confidence of students preparing for competitive examinations. “If Gen Z in countries like Bangladesh and Nepal could change the government, then Indian youth could also ensure accountability in cases of paper leaks,” the former Delhi chief minister said, as quoted by PTI. Kejriwal questioned the effectiveness of investigations conducted by the Central Bureau of Investigation into previous examination leaks and asked whether those responsible had ever faced strict punishment. He also alleged that the ongoing CBI probe into the alleged NEET paper leak would not lead to any meaningful outcome. “The CBI has failed to do anything in previous paper leak cases,” he claimed. Referring to multiple alleged examination paper leaks since 2014, Kejriwal said such incidents had affected the future of crores of students across the country. He further alleged that several of these cases had occurred in states governed by the BJP. The remarks come amid continuing political debate over alleged irregularities in recruitment and entrance examinations, which opposition parties say have undermined trust in the system among young aspirants.
