Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh govt under CM Pema Khandu on Wednesday announced a 2% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for serving employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for pensioners and family pensioners, raising the rate from 58% to 60% of basic pay or pension with effect from Jan 1, 2026.The revision follows the Centre’s decision issued vide office memorandum on enhancement of DA and DR for central govt employees and pensioners, an official report said.The enhanced DA will apply to All India Service officers serving under the Arunachal Pradesh govt, central govt employees on deputation to the state govt, and all regular state govt employees. The enhanced DR will apply to all pensioners and family pensioners.The benefit is expected to cover around 69,248 regular employees and 40,477 pensioners across the state, the report said. The annual financial implication of the hike is estimated at Rs 100.54 crore, including Rs 83.31 crore towards DA and Rs 17.24 crore towards DR.Arrears from Jan 2026 to April 2026 will be paid in cash.
