Army Chief, Kataria discuss security issues ARMY CHIEF GENERAL DHIRAJ SETH CALLS ON PUNJAB GOVERNOR GULAB CHAND KATARIA Civil-military synergy, regional security and welfare of ex-servicemen discussed. Chandigarh, August 11: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, called on the Governor of Punjab, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, at Punjab Lok Bhavan, Chandigarh, today. During the interaction, issues related to civil-military synergy and regional security were discussed. Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh, AVSM, SM, Army Commander, Western Command, along with other functionaries from Army Headquarters, was also present. This was the first meeting of the Army Chief with the Governor since assuming command of the Indian Army. The meeting holds significance as the Governor of Punjab is also the Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh. General Dhiraj Seth reassured the Governor of the Indian Army’s resolve and commitment to nation-building and expressed his gratitude to the State Government for its policies promoting the welfare of veterans. He also apprised the Governor of the latest developments concerning internal security, projects being undertaken in the border areas, and the welfare of ex-servicemen. According to Colonel Jusdeep Sandhu, Advisor, Civil-Military Affairs, the meeting further strengthened civil-military synergy in the region and enhanced confidence and trust in jointly ensuring internal security, border tranquillity, effective responses to natural disasters and external threats, and preparedness for other crises.

Chandigarh: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Dhiraj Seth called on Punjab governor and UT administrator Gulab Chand Kataria at Punjab Lok Bhavan on Tuesday and discussed issues related to civil-military coordination as well as regional security.In his first meeting with Kataria after assuming charge as Army Chief, General Seth reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to nation-building and thanked the Punjab govt for its policies aimed at the welfare of veterans. He also briefed the governor on the latest developments related to internal security, projects being undertaken in border areas, and initiatives for the welfare of ex-servicemen.Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command, along with senior officials from Army Headquarters, was present during the meeting.According to Colonel Jusdeep Sandhu, Adviser (Civil-Military Affairs), the meeting strengthened civil-military synergy in the region and reinforced confidence in jointly addressing internal security challenges, maintaining peace along the borders, responding effectively to natural disasters and external threats, and improving preparedness for other emergencies.
