Lucknow: Days after terming the protests by industrial workers in Noida as a conspiracy to derail Uttar Pradesh’s industrial progress, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said “there are apprehensions that similar attempts to create industrial unrest may be made again between April 30 and May 2”.At a late night meeting to review law and order in the state and discuss other important issues, the CM said: “Industrial unrest in the state will not be acceptable under any circumstances and such malicious attempts will be firmly foiled.”Assessing the arrangements for the Home Guard Recruitment Examination to be held from April 25 to 27, the CM said this is the first time that the exam is being conducted through the Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, and therefore special vigilance should be exercised. He directed DMs who have been recently posted in their respective districts to proper coordination with the divisional commissioners concerned and the police.Asserting that no compromise of any kind with the integrity and confidentiality of the examination will be acceptable, the CM ordered the strictest action against those who attempt to breach the fairness of the examination. He directed continuous monitoring of social media and immediate action should be ensured against those spreading rumours.He further said there should be arrangements for cold drinking water at all examination centres, availability of emergency medical facilities, and traffic management keeping in mind the movement of a large number of examinees.The CM also expressed concern about reports from some districts where antisocial elements are being anticipated to incite caste tension and directed officials to remain alert and prevent any such incident from happening.In view of the ongoing heatwave in the state, Yogi directed officials to carry out inspection of all ammunition depots and fireworks factories, so that the possibility of any kind of accident can be eliminated and strict compliance with all safety standards is ensured.Reviewing the availability of petroleum products in the state, the CM reiterated there should be no panic among the general public as supply and distribution is completely normal in the state. “Public should be informed about this from time to time. All DMs should hold regular meetings with representatives of petroleum companies in their respective districts to review supply and distribution. Effective control over black marketing and hoarding should be ensured in districts bordering Nepal,” the CM said.Reacting to complaints about the functioning of smart electricity meters, the CM said that an expert committee has been constituted to resolve any apprehensions being raised regarding the meters. Till its report is received, the CM said, feeder-wise special camps should be organised for a week by the electricity distribution corporation and power corporation in all districts to resolve consumer complaints on the spot.
