New Delhi: Silence hung over Mahavir Enclave in west Delhi’s Tilak Nagar Thursday, a day after 21-year-old Muskan Sharma was found murdered, with heavy security deployed across the neighbourhood.A white tent was erected near Muskan’s home, with six-seven chairs arranged in a row. The lane outside was largely deserted, with barricades blocking the entrance and cops preventing people from gathering or lingering in the area.Some neighbours TOI spoke to said they had heard commotion Wednesday evening. It was only after the house help found Muskan lying in a pool of blood and informed the family that they came to know about the incident.They recalled how Imran was a frequent presence in the area. A neighbour said Imran lived in a rented accommodation and would often be seen in the neighbourhood. “We never noticed anything amiss,” the neighbour said.Residents said they knew little about Muskan as she generally kept to herself and did not interact much with people in the area. It was only after the incident that many of them came to know that she was a content creator.One neighbour said the family, which had been living in the locality for several years, was humble and cordial. “Muskan had three siblings, and her mother is a working woman,” he said.A sense of tension prevailed at the mortuary too, with friends and family members kept in a restricted area and police personnel maintaining a strict vigil. The same security arrangements were in place at the cremation ground, where nearly two dozen cops were deployed. The gates had been closed, with officers standing guard at the entrance and preventing people from moving in or out without permission. Security arrangements will remain in place on Raksha Bandhan Friday, police said.Meanwhile, some right-wing groups visited Muskan’s house during the day, urging police to probe any possible links to a larger nexus and expand the scope of the investigation.
