Ahmedabad: On Thursday, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s health department acted to seal a food outlet, “Barbecue World,” near Panjrapol Crossroads in Ambawadi. The department received a complaint that a customer had discovered an insect in food served at the eatery. Acting on this complaint, the unit was subsequently sealed.The department received the complaint via CCRS, stating that an insect had been spotted in food served to a customer at the outlet. Following this, an immediate on-site probe was carried out. Health officials inspected the premises, and during the inquiry, found the kitchen and storage areas to be in highly unhygienic condition. Moreover, live insects were also detected on the premises, marking a serious breach of food safety and hygiene norms. In view of public health concerns, the “Barbecue World” outlet was sealed with immediate effect.
