Hyderabad: AICC general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal on Monday expressed displeasure over the infighting in the Telangana Congress even at the ministers level and called for a meeting of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) coordination committee in New Delhi on Wednesday. The AICC had earlier formed an 8-member coordination committee for the TPCC comprising chief minister A Revanth Reddy, deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar, ministers N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Damodara Raja Narasimha, D Anasuya (Seethakka), and CWC special invitee Vamshi Chand Reddy and Meenakshi Natarajan.CM Revanth, Mahesh Goud and Meenakshi attended the two-hour meeting held at the AICC headquarters in Delhi, in which KC Venugopal reviewed party activities, especially the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and said the party-appointed booth-level assistants (BLAs) performance was far from satisfactory.“KC Venugopal expressed satisfaction over the organisational work undertaken by the Telangana Congress and appreciated the performance of the Sanghatan Srijan Abhiyan programmes. He, however, advised party leaders to accord special attention to the SIR initiative and stressed that there should be no negligence in its implementation, as every single vote is valuable. He said the BLAs performance was not up to the mark and needs improvement,” Mahesh Goud said.Revanth is likely to stay back in the national capital and meet Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and INDIA bloc party leaders on Tuesday in connection with “lowering the age bill” he has proposed for opening the doors of the Parliament and the assembly for Gen Z. At a media conference in Hyderabad on Sunday, he urged PM Narendra Modi to introduce the bill in the ongoing session of the Parliament.Sources said KC Venugopal also discussed about the complaint lodged by endowments minister Konda Surekha against turncoat MLA Kadiyam Srihari, the infighting in Thungathurthy constituency and complaints against non-cooperation of turncoat MLAs, delay in filling up corporation posts, among other issues. The crucial TPCC coordination committee meeting on Wednesday assumes significance, as it was constituted by the AICC to streamline communication and bridge gaps between party legislators, district leaders, and state ministers. The meeting, to be chaired by Meenakshi Natarajan, is expected to focus on strengthening party organisation and reviewing the progress of the SIR initiative and resolving the differences among the party leaders.
