Ahmedabad: A 36-year-old IT professional, who had been missing for two days, was found dead inside his locked car near the Old High Court Metro Station. Preliminary police investigations suggest a sudden cardiac arrest, possibly following alcohol consumption, as a cold drink bottle laced with liquor was recovered from the vehicle.“The deceased has been identified as Vikas Chandravadan Rajarao, a resident of Sukruti Apartments in Navrangpura,” a Navrangpura police officer told TOI. “Originally from Junagadh, Rajarao held an MSc in IT but had been out of work for the past two months. His wife is a professor at Gujarat College.”At around 5pm on Tuesday, a security guard noticed a man inside a car parked near Metro Pillar 232. He alerted the authorities. When rescuers broke open the car doors to reach Rajarao, he was already dead. His relatives told Navrangpura police that he had not returned home since Saturday. No missing person report was filed because he had contacted his father on Sunday evening, assuring him that he was on his way back home.Investigators have ruled out foul play for the time being, noting that there were no visible injury marks or suspicious items on the body. “An accidental death case has been registered, and the body has been sent for a postmortem examination,” the officer said.“We found a cold drink bottle inside the vehicle that strongly smelled of alcohol,” the officer said. “Since there are no external injuries, we suspect he consumed liquor inside the car before suffering a fatal medical episode, such as a heart attack.”
