Ahmedabad: Two minors chase 25-year-old man, stab him to death

Ahmedabad: A 25-year-old man was stabbed to death in broad daylight allegedly by two minors on a road outside Gulberg Society in Meghaninagar on Tuesday, police said. The victim, Harish Patani, was a resident of Laxminagar in Meghaninagar. The minors have been detained by Meghaninagar police and are being interrogated.According to police, one of the accused knew a girl who was also known to Patani, and an argument had taken place between them on Monday night. Inspector J H Sindhav said the minors again confronted Patani on Tuesday.Police said Patani had stepped out of his house around 11am and was sitting in an autorickshaw near Gulberg Society when the two boys arrived. According to eyewitnesses, an argument broke out between Patani and the two boys and soon turned violent. The accused allegedly pulled out knives, chased him and stabbed him multiple times. Patani, who was bleeding heavily, tried to escape but collapsed near Asarwa Gujarati School.Residents told police that Patani died before medical help arrived. The attack took place in full public view, drawing a crowd to the area.Police briefly stopped traffic to secure the scene. Senior officers and a team from Meghaninagar police station reached the spot after the control room was alerted. The crowd was dispersed, traffic was restored and the body was sent to Civil Hospital for postmortem. Meghaninagar police had formed multiple teams to trace the minors after the attack. CCTV footage from Gulberg Society, Asarwa Gujarati School and nearby roads was collected to identify the them.
