Ahmedabad: In a case resembling scenes from the Bollywood film “Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!”, car thieves used a quiet and calculated method to steal a parked vehicle in Naranpura, where they came in one SUV to steal another, police said.The complainant, a resident of Naranpura, filed a complaint with Naranpura police stating that his car was stolen from outside his residence in the early hours of Monday.According to the complaint, he had parked the vehicle outside his house on the night of April 17. When he stepped out around 5am on Monday to pick up his brother from Shivranjani, he realized his car was missing. Despite searching nearby areas, he could not locate it. He then approached the police.Police said the vehicle contained important documents, including the complainant’s driving licence, Aadhaar card and election card, all of which were taken along with the car.CCTV footage from the area shows that the accused arrived in a similar vehicle. To avoid drawing attention, they did not start the engine immediately but instead pushed the parked car away silently before fleeing.The suspects were seen covering their faces during the act.Police said the method is similar to techniques shown in films, where thieves ensure there’s no noise to escape detection. Police have begun analysing CCTV footage from surrounding areas to trace the route taken by the suspects.A case of theft has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
