Ahmedabad: Schools told to submit war concession scholarship proposals by Aug 20

Ahmedabad: District education officer (DEO) City has directed all govt and grant-in-aid secondary and higher secondary schools to submit proposals for scholarship benefits under the War Concession Scheme for the 2026-27 academic year.Schools must submit completed proposals along with certified documents to the designated office by Aug 20.The scheme is available to students whose parents were martyred or injured in war, as well as children of ex-servicemen. There is no annual family income limit for availing benefits under the scheme.Eligible students can receive concessions such as tuition fee waivers, assistance for uniforms and educational materials, scholarships, and hostel expenses. Schools have been asked to identify eligible students and submit proposals with certified supporting documents.Students must provide their Aadhaar card, bank account details, govt-issued proof of their father’s status as a soldier, a death certificate or documents related to war injuries, and a marksheet showing they passed the previous academic year in their first attempt.School principals or clerks must verify and certify all documents before forwarding the prescribed proposal form to the DEO City office. Authorities have instructed all govt and grant-in-aid secondary and higher secondary schools to ensure that eligible students receive the benefits.
