Ahmedabad night gets warmer as night temp rises 3.5 degrees in 24 hours

Ahmedabad: For the fourth consecutive day, Ahmedabad has felt like a kiln, with the mercury stubbornly refusing to drop below the 40-degree mark. While the daytime heat was predictably fierce at 41.4°C, two degrees above the seasonal average, night brought little relief. In a staggering 24-hour leap, the minimum temperature staged a dramatic 3.5-degree climb, hitting 27°C and effectively erasing the possibility of a cool night’s sleep. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 41°C on Wednesday. According to the India meteorological department (IMD), this “oven-effect” isn’t going away anytime soon. The forecast mentioned that there will be no large change across the region for seven days, and maximum temperature is likely to be above 40 degrees in isolated pockets of Gujarat for the next five days. There are chances of light to moderate rainfall in parts of Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Dahod, Mahisagar, Amreli and Bhavnagar on April 19 and 20.On Tuesday, Rajkot recorded highest maximum temperature of 42°C, followed by 41.1°C in Amreli and 41°C in Surendranagar, among others.
