Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad Crime Branch on Thursday arrested a 33-year-old man from Madhya Pradesh and seized 198.5g of mephedrone worth Rs 6 lakh from his possession near Maninagar Crossroads.According to police, the accused had allegedly travelled to Ahmedabad to deliver the contraband to local drug peddlers. Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted him on the road between Maninagar and Jai Hind Crossroads near a showroom.During the operation, police recovered 198.5g of mephedrone and a mobile phone worth Rs 10,000.Investigations revealed that the accused had allegedly been sourcing mephedrone from Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh and supplying it to peddlers in Ahmedabad.Police also found that he had a criminal record under the NDPS Act. In Jan, he was allegedly arrested in Rajasthan in a case involving the seizure of 8kg of ganja.
