Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad district education officer (DEO) has issued a notice to Natraj High School in Odhav for delaying salary-related proposals for 11 employees. The school has been directed to submit the pending files and an explanation within a day.The DEO office found that the school had not submitted files for the full salaries of five employees eligible for the benefit. It had also failed to submit proposals for higher pay scales for six eligible employees. The delay has held up service-related financial benefits for the employees. The DEO has asked the school management and principal to submit all pending documents within the stipulated deadline. The notice warns that failure to comply could invite legal and regulatory action. The office has treated the delay seriously because the pending proposals concern employees’ service benefits. In a separate finding during an inspection drive, the DEO office flagged 10 schools operating from locations other than those approved by the authorities. The schools have been directed to resume operations only at their authorised premises. The inspection revealed lapses in compliance with the conditions under which these schools were granted approval.Sources said the schools would be allowed to present their case before the authorities take further action. The inspection drive is part of the DEO office’s scrutiny of school operations and compliance with official requirements. The notice to Natraj High School and the findings against the 10 schools could lead to further action if the institutions fail to address the violations.
