Ahmedabad: A 13-year-old Class 9 student of Delhi Public School, Gandhinagar, went missing from her residence in Chandkheda on Monday. She left a handwritten note, mentioning academic stress as the reason for leaving home. Chandkheda police registered a kidnapping case and launched a search on Tuesday.According to the complaint filed by her father, a businessman, the family had lunch together on Monday afternoon, after which everyone went to their respective rooms. Around 5pm, the father left home with his son, who studies in Class 11, to inquire about tuition classes. He received a call from his wife, informing him that their daughter was missing and that a note had been found at home.In her note, the girl wrote that she was unable to cope with her studies and mentioned having frequent thoughts of suicide. She apologized to her family and stated that she was leaving the house. She also said she was afraid of dying but did not wish to return.Her family members searched for her and inquired with their relatives, but to no avail. They later filed a police complaint.Police teams have begun scanning CCTV footage from areas near her house. Cops are also inquiring with her classmates and relatives, said an official, adding that the main reason could be depression due to study pressure.
