Agri varsity boosts campus infra with upgraded roads
Officials and students planted fruit-bearing saplings around the university hostels to strengthen PAU’s “Clean and Green Campus” campaign and dedicate the modernised facilities to students and the farming community

Ludhiana: Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) held a special function to mark the inauguration of campus-wide infrastructure developments, including widened roads, a renovated library, and upgraded basic amenities, funded in part by the Punjab Mandi Board.As part of the initiative, officials and students planted fruit-bearing saplings around the university hostels to strengthen PAU’s “Clean and Green Campus” campaign and dedicate the modernised facilities to students and the farming community.Highlighting the mandi board’s financial contribution to the road network, chairman Harchand Singh Barsat said, “The library serves as a gateway to knowledge, while roads provide connectivity to the university.” He added that strengthening these essential routes rendered valuable service to the premier agricultural institution.PAU vice-chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal appreciated the board’s support for the development and beautification works. Dr Gosal remarked, “The fruit trees enjoyed today were planted by unknown people; similarly, the current generation should plant and nurture fruit trees for the benefit of future generations.” He noted that the new plantation would reinforce PAU’s reputation as a green oasis in Ludhiana.Registrar Dr Rishipal Singh and Dr Vishwamohan, a cardiac specialist from Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, also addressed the audience, urging students to actively participate in tree plantation and environmental conservation.
