Ajmer: The acting headmaster of a govt middle school in Udari village of Kekri town in Ajmer district allegedly arrived at school drunk Thursday and later slept on the playground, prompting intervention by villagers and action by the education department after a video of the incident went viral.In the video clip, acting headmaster Bheema Ram is seen reaching the school in an intoxicated state. Villagers said they complained to the school development committee and confronted him while others recorded the incident. Water was splashed on his face, but he remained unconscious, after which a complaint was made to the chief block education officer (CBEO) in Kekri.CBEO Ganpat Lal Meena confirmed the incident and said, “We have removed Beema Ram and directed him to attend the Gram Panchayat office of Meena ka Naya Gaon village of Kekri.” He added, “A complaint that this teacher came to school drunk was received by the office, and a two-member committee has been formed to inquire into the incident. We will act against him as per rules after we receive the report.”Villagers demanded strict action. “We want strict action against such teachers because such acts will create a wrong impression on our children,” said Moti Singh Meghwanshi, a former Gram Sabha member.Villagers said Bheema Ram has served at the school for 27 years and was given additional charge as headmaster six months ago.
