New Delhi: The accountant of the Flourish Inn Bed and Breakfast establishment, who was arrested in connection with the Malviya Nagar hotel fire, has moved a plea before a Delhi court and sought monitoring of the investigation.In the application filed through advocate Prem Nath Singh, the accountant, Jay Mishra, sought a “fair investigation”, alleging that the investigating officer was deliberately suppressing material facts to protect the hotel owner, Lovkesh Bajaj.“The IO for malafide reasons and to help Lovkesh Bajaj, is not bringing the true and correct facts on record about ‘Snacks & Bites’ and is trying to falsely implicate the applicant on totally false and concocted facts in spite of the applicant bringing all these facts already on record in his bail application,” the plea stated.The application also pointed out that Mishra had voluntarily surrendered before the court to cooperate with the investigation on June 8.The plea alleged that Mishra was wrongly arrested despite being “simply an employee” with “no financial interest in the guest house or any other business venture of Lovkesh Bajaj.”It further claimed that Mishra remained at the spot after the fire, assisting police and fire brigade personnel by showing them access to the roof of Flourish Stay and helping open the water tank. It also contended that CCTV footage from adjoining buildings would show Mishra present at the scene on June 3, 2026, helping police and fire personnel evacuate guests and control the blaze.The court of judicial magistrate first class has notified the IO to file a reply to the plea on Aug 3.
