Shillong: The Meghalaya govt has appointed Abhilash Baranwal as deputy commissioner of East Khasi Hills district, which includes the state capital Shillong.Baranwal, who was deputy commissioner of Ri-Bhoi district, replaced Rosetta Mary Kurbah, who has been transferred and posted as commissioner and secretary in the home (police) and tourism departments.DC North Garo Hills Abhishek Saini has been posted as the new deputy commissioner of Ri-Bhoi district.In another bureaucratic reshuffle effected on Tuesday, Barnari Mawlong was relieved as deputy commissioner of South West Khasi Hills district and posted as secretary in the health and family welfare department. Aitinolin L Mawlong has been appointed as the new deputy commissioner of South West Khasi Hills.Tennystar R Marak, additional deputy commissioner, in-charge North Garo Hills district, Resubelpara, has been tasked to also look after the office of the DC in addition to his responsibilities.
