Chandigarh: INLD national president Abhay Singh Chautala on Sunday targeted both BJP and Congress, claiming his party would oust the BJP from power, keep Congress at bay and form the next govt in Haryana.Addressing the Samman Divas rally in Nuh to mark former deputy PM Devi Lal’s 113th birth anniversary, Chautala promised to develop Mewat on the lines of Gurugram if INLD came to power.Invoking Devi Lal and former Haryana CM Om Prakash Chautala’s association with Mewat, he promised better infrastructure and facilities in the region.Chautala accused the BJP govt of failing to tackle unemployment, drug abuse, crime, paper leaks and agrarian distress, while calling Congress the BJP’s “B-team”.He also targeted JJP, accusing it of betraying Devi Lal’s ideology by supporting BJP in 2019. Chautala alleged a nexus between former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda and BJP during the 2024 assembly polls, claiming Hooda had struck a deal with Union home minister Amit Shah to avoid ED action. He also accused Hooda of working against some Congress candidates and covering up alleged cross-voting by party leaders in the Rajya Sabha polls.The allegations could not be independently verified.Chautala announced that he and INLD state president Rampal Majra would undertake a statewide tour in Nov to campaign against BJP and Congress. He said INLD would abolish what he termed “anti-farmer” portals and take steps to tackle unemployment.Messages from TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee and RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary were read out at the rally, while J&K deputy CM Surinder Choudhary addressed the gathering. Former Haryana finance minister Sampat Singh and Sirsa Zila Parishad chairman Karan Chautala also spoke.Former Rewari MLA Raghu Yadav joined INLD at the rally.
