Chandigarh: Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) national president Abhay Singh Chautala on Tuesday demanded a time-bound judicial probe into alleged corruption, financial irregularities and misuse of govt funds during the BJP govt’s tenure in Haryana, claiming that several major scams have gone unchecked. In a letter, Chautala alleged large-scale irregularities in govt procurement, award of contracts, recruitment and examination processes, procurement of paddy and wheat, property registrations, liquor trade, paper leaks, illegal mining, use of govt funds in private banks, scholarship schemes and municipal bodies. He alleged that despite claims of good governance and transparency, no action had been taken against those responsible.Referring to recent remarks by Union minister Krishan Pal Gurjar, Chautala claimed the BJP leader had publicly accused officials of the Faridabad municipal corporation of committing scams worth thousands of crores during a meeting attended by ministers and MLAs. He added that Haryana minister Anil Vij had flagged an alleged Rs 1,500-crore scam in the labour department.Chautala said he had earlier written to the chief minister in July 2020 seeking action on nine alleged scams but claimed no action followed. He demanded that all allegations be investigated by a committee headed by a sitting judge of the high court and that those found guilty be prosecuted, irrespective of their position.
