AAP workers deface houses of defecting MPs; sought info if any complaints of defacement have been filed

Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers on Saturday protested against Rajya Sabha MPs Harbhajan Singh, Ashok Mittal and Rajinder Gupta for quitting the party to join the BJP, spray-painting “gadar” (traitor) on the outer walls of their residences and burning their effigies. Protesters also raised slogans of “Punjab de gadar”.It was not yet clear whether complaints of defacement had been recieved for any of the protests. In Jalandhar, senior AAP leader Pawan Kumar Tinu alleged that the BJP had resorted to “poaching” AAP’s Rajya Sabha MPs “by hook or by crook” out of frustration, and claimed that the Congress, BJP and Akali Dal had formed an “unholy alliance” against the party.AAP Punjab youth wing acting president Parminder Goldy led a protest outside Rajinder Gupta’s residence, saying the people of Punjab would not forgive the “betrayal of trust”. He alleged attempts to destabilise AAP due to its governance model, but asserted that party workers remained firmly united.AAP leaders maintained that the party remains committed to serving Punjab and that those betraying public trust would be held accountable.
