New Delhi: AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday hit out at BJP govt, alleging that “entire Delhi was facing power cuts in scorching 45-degree heat”. Govt had pushed the capital 15 years back in terms of power supply, he said.“In the scorching 45-degree heat… Delhiites are in distress. The lights are going out at any moment. Social media is flooded with complaints, but BJP govt is fast asleep. During our govt, people in Delhi had forgotten about power cuts. Inverters had stopped selling. BJP, as soon as it came to power, pushed Delhi 15 years back,” he wrote on X.Kejriwal also shared a 2.33-minute video grab of screenshots of complaints circulating on social media.Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva hit back at Kejriwal saying his claim was “100% false”.“Delhi’s electricity demand today reached approximately 8,039 megawatts in the afternoon, which was successfully met by the power discoms. The purpose of Arvind Kejriwal’s post is only to mislead the people as well as the electorate of Punjab. In the last two days, no scheduled power cuts were implemented anywhere in Delhi. If there were any minor local faults, they were resolved in a very short time,” said Sachdeva.Sachdeva alleged that Kejriwal used comments from fake accounts on social media to support his “false” claims.
