Chaitanya.MarpakwarMumbai: While Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray on Wednesday claimed that the BMC improvements committee referred back proposals on the SevenHills Hospitals, blood banks and land use plans after he made allegations, his party’s MLC Milind Narvekar thanked CM Devendra Fadnavis for getting the proposals deferred. Narvekar said he had called CM Devendra Fadnavis late on Tuesday, briefed him about the proposals and irregularities in them and urged him to get them deferred, to which the CM agreed.The improvements committee is led by Sandhya Doshi of Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, which the opposition has alleged has backed the proposals. So Narvekar’s praise for CM Fadnavis and his statement that he had got the proposals deferred raised eyebrows in political circles.“There were some wrong proposals that were to be tabled in the improvements committee. Aaditya Thackeray had already exposed them and demanded that they be scrapped. At midnight, I spoke to CM Fadnavis. He told me that he won’t allow irregularities and wrong proposals to be passed. He agreed to this and he has got all the proposals stopped and prevented loss to the BMC and a controversy,” Narvekar said.Despite being a close aide of Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, Narvekar is said to share a rapport with CM Fadnavis and is also said to be a bridge between the two former alliance partners who are now rivals.“The proposals included a plan to run SevenHills Hospital on a PPP basis, blood banks in five BMC hospitals to be given to a private organization along with the land, a playground in Bandra to be converted into an exhibition centre reservation, reservation of a garden plot in Malabar Hill to be changed to residential for a high-rise. Also, a plot of public housing in Vakola is to be given to a private society for development and green belt reservation on a plot at Malabar Hill is proposed to be changed to residential,” Narvekar said.
